AN APOLOGY – This post is actually about the best 5 breweries in Canmore, the best distillery in Canmore and the best cidery in Canmore. But that didn’t really work as a title.
Anyway, moving on, let’s get to the beer (and cider and spirits).
So, you’re in Canmore, Alberta, and you’re wondering where to find the best brews? You’ve come to the right place! We’re Kevin and Jill, and we’ve explored every corner of this beautiful town to bring you a local’s guide to breweries in Canmore.
Now, you might think of Canmore as a hiker’s paradise, and you’d be right. But you might not know that it’s also a haven for craft beer and spirits. There’s nothing like savouring a cold, locally crafted beverage after a day of outdoor adventures.
I’m Kevin, and I’ll usually pick an IPA—the hazier, the better. Jill, on the other hand, has a soft spot for ciders. She has also developed a taste for stouts. Apparently, they are good for your iron levels (it’s medicinal, you know!).
So, whether you’re an IPA enthusiast like me or into ciders and stouts like Jill, this guide is for you. Ready to discover the best breweries in Canmore? Let’s get started!

What Do You Think About The Breweries In Canmore?
We would love to know what you thought of our Canmore breweries. Which of the breweries in Canmore do you consider the best? Don’t hold back. Let us know in the comments below.
Is there an easy way to get to Sheepdog Brewing Co without a car? I was hoping to take in all the breweries but can’t find a way to do this.
Of all the breweries in Canmore, Sheepdog Brewing is the most difficult to get to
I will usually visit on a bike, but it can be a little far even for that.
Fortunately, Roam Transit has a bus stop right next to Sheepdog Brewing (and Wildlife Distillery). If you are staying at one of the hotels on the 1A, then the frequency and journey length is pretty good.
The bus you would need is the 5C.
Sheepdog Brewing is worth the effort for the beer and the atmosphere.
